FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas head coach Luchi Gonzalez and forward Ricardo Pepi were named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 10 following the 2-1 win against Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution on Sunday, June 27 at Toyota Stadium.
Pepi scored his first MLS brace and became the youngest player in FC Dallas history to score two goals at 18 years and 169 days old. The Homegrown's first goal was scored in the 11th minute after connecting with a pass from Jesús Ferreira near the top of the box and firing a right-footed shot past New England's Matt Turner. Pepi added his second in 54th minute after slipping passed Revs' defender Jonathan Bell and driving into the box before dancing around another defender and blasting it into the roof of the net. It's Pepi's first-ever Team of the Week inclusion. The teenager was also nominated for MLS's Player of the Week award for his eye-catching performance.
Gonzalez was named head coach for the Team of the Week as FCD upset the Eastern Conference leaders 2-1 to earn his first TOTW inclusion of the year. Gonzalez was named TOTW head coach four times during the 2019 season.
