FRISCO - FC Dallas is well-represented in the MLS Team of the Week for Week 4! After club's 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids, Ryan Hollingshead and Paxton Pomykal have been named to the week's Best XI, while Michael Barrios finds himself on the bench.
Hollingshead tied Pomykal for the team lead in shots (3) and had twice as many ball recoveries (12) than any other FCD player. Coupled that his his game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, it's hard to deny why the versatile veteran was named to the Team of the Week for the first time since Week 14 in 2018.
The 19-year-old Homegrown was the veteran anchor of the FCD midfield on Saturday and atop the team's performances in shots (tied, 3), passes (tied, 69), passes in the attacking half (43), touches (88), blocks (2) and fouls won (tied, 4). Pomykal has already eclipsed his career minutes total in 2019 with now 287 to his name in four matches and came a Keegan Rosenberry goal-line clearance away from his first MLS goal. It's the second time already this season that the midfielder has been named to the Team of the Week (Week 2).
Barrios was named to the Team of the Week bench with his second goal of the season, beating Tim Howard to the left side in the 35th minute.
