FRISCO- FC Dallas begins their short week on the road in LA looking to switch their streak back to a win and break LAFC's momentum.

SET THE STAGE: FC Dallas at Los Angeles Football Club | 5.16.19 -

Head-to-Head

  • FCD record: 5-4-2 (17 pts., 5th in West)
  • LAFC record: 8-1-3 (27 pts., 1st in West)
  • FCD vs. LAFC all-time: 1-0-1 (3 GF, 2 GA)
  • FCD vs. LAFC away: 0-0-1 (1 GF, 1 GA)

Current Form

  • LAFC got back in the win column on Saturday with a 3-0 win in Columbus after back-to-back draws and just one win over their previous four games. FC Dallas comes in riding its first losing streak of the season after a 3-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Dallas has just one point from its previous three matches entering the double-match week.

Back-to-Back

  • FC Dallas and LAFC will get a heavy dose of each other this week, playing both of their 2019 regular season meetings in the span of four days. After Thursday's match in California, the series shifts to Texas on Sunday at 2PM. It marks the first time since April 2013 that Dallas has faced an opponent in back-to-back matches during the regular season. FCD took the mini series vs. Vancouver with wins on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

Midfield Mid-Week

  • Both teams have an emphasis on the midline heading in to the midweek matchup but for different reasons. FC Dallas could still be without Paxton Pomykal and Carlos Gruezo, who missed the Red Bulls match with injuries, and will be missing Edwin Cerrillo and Brandon Servania, who are on international duty with the U.S. U-20s. LAFC, on the other hand has relied on their midfield press to lead the attacking scheme. Midfielders Eduard Atuesta, Mark Anthony-Kaye and Latif Blessing have a combined seven assists on LAFC's last eight goals over the last four matches.

Frontline Duel

  • FC Dallas and LAFC have very different leaders atop their attack. For FCD, 18-year-old Jesus Ferreira scored his fourth goal of the season last week, and also has two assists to his name. LAFC is led by 30-year-old Carlos Vela, who has scored 11 goals and five assists on his MVP-level start to 2019.
