STORY LINES

Streakin'
FC Dallas is back in top form with four wins in the last six games after breaking through its quasi-annual summer slump. In addition to the wins, Dallas and goalkeeper Maarten Paes have kept three shutouts over that span and FCD's backline looks back to its best with the second best defensive record in the West (28 goals conceded in 27 games). Head coach Nico Estévez and co. with look to earn their third win in a row for the first time this season with a trip to Nashville SC, a team they shutout 2-0 at Toyota Stadium in mid March.

Missing Ferreira
Dallas' Homegrown Designated Player Jesús Ferreira is living up to that billing with one of the club's best-ever individual seasons. The 21-year-old forward notched his 15th goal of the year in FCD's 1-0 win over the East's top team in the Philadelphia Union with an impressive first-half finish into the bottom corner. The strike puts Ferreira firmly in contention to reach FCD's single-season scoring record of 18 goals (achieved by Jason Kreis in 1999 and Kenny Cooper in 2008). However, he won't be able to add to his tally this weekend as Ferreira received his fifth caution of the season last time out and will be suspended for the matchup in Nashville. His absence likely means veteran Franco Jara will step in to lead the line at GEODIS Park.

New Digs
This Sunday will be FC Dallas' first-ever trip to Nashville's newly minted GEODIS Park. Opened on May 1 of this year, GEODIS Park is a stylish soccer-specific stadium with a 30,000 capacity in the historic Nashville Fairgrounds area. While Nashville should rightly be proud of its new home, it seems to be taking some time for it to feel like home. The club has a losing record at GEODIS through 12 games (3-4-5), a far cry the impressive unbeaten record Nashville achieved last campaign at their former venue Nissan Stadium (8-0-9 in 2021). Dallas will be hoping Nashville's home woes last through this Sunday at the very least.
