STORY LINES

Bounce Back
FC Dallas is looking to bounce back after a tough outing away to Nashville SC last Saturday. The 4-0 loss was FCD's largest defeat this season and the team, admittedly, wasn't itself usual self on the day. Thankfully, the loss came off the back of two crucial home wins over San Jose and Philadelphia which helped Dallas maintain its grip on third place in the West. Regardless, that's now all in the past and Nico Estévez and company are looking forward to their home matchup with Real Salt Lake, a team they dealt a first home defeat to last month with a 1-0 win at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Big, Big Game
With six games left in the regular season, FC Dallas is truly in the home stretch. But the work is far from done. Dallas has played two extra games over its nearest playoff-place rivals which makes its grip on third place somewhat weaker. One of those rivals is, you guessed it, Real Salt Lake. Pablo Mastroeni's team is four points back on FCD but with two games in hand which makes Saturday's matchup a classic Western Conference six-pointer. A win would put Dallas in a great position to lock up a top four finish and a coveted first-round home playoff game. A loss, on the other hand, would force Dallas to look over its shoulder over the final stretch of the season.

Jesús Rises
Great News! FCD's leading scorer Jesús Ferreira is once again available for selection after serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation. With 15 goals and 5 assists, Ferreira has contributed to 51% of all Dallas' goals this year. And his value goes beyond just his goals. Ferreira's tireless work rate from the front is crucial to FCD's ability to press opponents' backlines. Among MLS forwards, Ferreira is in the 97th percentile or higher for Total Distance Covered (second most), Distance Running at High Speed (second most), Distance Sprinting (most), number of Sprints (most), and Total Distance Covered at High Speed (most), per Second Spectrum. Basically, Ferreira runs A LOT. And that's a very helpful attribute for a forward playing in Estévez's system. The Homegrown also scored the lone goal in FCD's 1-0 win over RSL last month and Dallas will be grateful to have him back for the return matchup.
