FRISCO − Though the team showed signs of struggle in the first half, goals by Maxi Urruti and Kellyn Acosta helped secure a victory over C.F. Pachuca in the first leg of the CONCACAF semifinal round. They played in front of a crowd of 8,961 (a sell out considering half of the stadium was closed for renovations) and once again, Fortress Frisco proved to be a home field advantage.
“They have to believe and be convinced that they are a great team. What they have done and what they have won, nobody has handed it to them," said head coach Oscar Pareja. "It was a more than favorable and well-deserved result.”
