FRISCO – With just nine games remaining in the regular season, FC Dallas continues to stay atop the Western Conference. Its 46 points are one ahead of Sporting Kansas City for the lead.
Dallas will try to keep its lead with a match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday.

San Jose remains at the bottom of the table after a 3-2 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. San Jose was up 2-0 early, but could not hold on. It has only won one match since May 12.
Sporting KC closed the gap on Dallas after a 2-0 home win over Minnesota United FC. The win extends SKC's winning streak to four games and it has not allowed a goal in 376 minutes, the longest current streak in MLS. It will look to continue it in Seattle this week.

LAFC stayed in third in the conference after a 1-1 draw vs. the LA Galaxy. Carlos Vela scored his ninth goal of the season in the match, tying Adama Diomande for the team-lead. LAFC travels to Toronto this weekend. Toronto has only dropped one of its last six matches.
With the draw, the Galaxy moved down from fifth place to sixth. It has not won any of its last five matches and will look to get back on track at Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

RSL continues to win matches and stay towards the top of the standings. It defeated Colorado 6-0 last week, with Jefferson Savarino scoring a brace, keeping Real Salt Lake in fourth place.
Portland found itself in the loss column again, suffering a 1-0 home loss to Seattle after a Julio Cascante own goal in the 76th minute. Portland has dropped four consecutive matches and is now looking on the outside-in to the playoffs. Seattle is trending in the exact opposite direction. With the win, it has jumped up to fifth place in the conference, its highest position all season. Seattle has won seven straight, and have not lost in its last 10 matches.
