FRISCO - Believe it or not, the first month of the MLS Regular Season has already come and gone.

With two early-season bye weeks out of the way, FCD has played fewer matches than half the teams in the West, but still remains the last unbeaten team after Week Five.

Wins by Sporting KC (1-0 over DC) and Vancouver (2-1 over Columbus) this past weekend have the duo tied for the early lead atop the West with 10 points apiece.

I don't think we need to cover how the Galaxy got their second win on the season despite a 3-0 deficit at halftime to jump into third place, surpassing their cross-town rivals, LAFC, both on the field and in the standings. Minnesota United dropped their third game already this season against an Atlanta United team that played the majority of the match down a man, but two wins to their name have the Loons holding on to fifth place just above FCD.

Dallas holds steady at No. 6 with five points through three matches and a point ahead of their next opponent, the Colorado Rapids, who dismantled the Philadelphia Union at home, 3-0, courtesy of a Dominique Badji second-half hat trick. The Western Conference foes will meet Saturday night at Toyota Stadium in what is always a tough battle regardless of either team's place in the table. \

Houston fell at home for the second time in the young year to the New England Revolution after a DeMarcus Beasley red card left them shorthanded and Real Salt Lake took a 3-1 L north of the border to Toronto on Friday night to stay in eighth and ninth place, respectively.

The American Cascadia Cup contingent rounds out the standings with the Timbers earning a second consecutive draw, taking a point from the Chicago Fire in a 2-2 affair. The Seattle Sounders saw red for the third time in as many matches and lost for the third time this year, 1-0 to Montreal on Saturday.
