FRISCO – FC Dallas will go on the road this weekend to face Toronto FC after last week's 2-2 draw to the Vancouver Whitecaps at home.
Toronto sits in ninth place in the East after defeating Orlando City SC, 2-1. After two straight losses, the defending MLS champs got back into the win column thanks to Ryan Telfer, who scored his first career goal and the game-winner in the 87th minute.
Vancouver drew San Jose 2-2 in their first of two matches last week as well keeping the Whitecaps in fifth place in the conference.
After the tie against Vancouver, San Jose closed out the week with a 3-1 loss at home against D.C. United. It was only D.C. United’s second win of the season. San Jose has only picked up four points in their last six matches and currently sit in 10th.
Sporting Kansas City continues to pick up points, recording a draw in Minnesota and stay at the top of the table in the Western Conference, leading second-place LAFC by four points.
LAFC had their chance to pick up some ground on Sporting, but fell to Portland 2-1 on the road. Samuel Armenteros scored the game-winner and his first MLS goal in the 81st minute. The Timbers have won five consecutive matches to move up to third place and is the only team in the West to win all of their home games, posting a 4-0-0 record.
The Houston Dynamo defeated Chicago, 3-2, after being down 2-1 early, Alberth Ellis scored two goals in the second half, including a penalty kick. Elis’ six goals are tied for third-most in the Western Conference. The win pushed the Dynamo up from eighth to sixth place in the conference.
Real Salt Lake lost 4-1 vs. the Philadelphia Union on Saturday as RSL has now dropped four of their last six games while allowing 15 goals in that span. The loss pushed them back from sixth to ninth in the table.
After a Zlatan red card in the 41st minute, the Galaxy were able to score a goal playing a man-down and defeat the Montreal Impact, 1-0, on the road. They will host San Jose next weekend before a rematch with FC Dallas in the midweek.
At the bottom of the table, Seattle had the week off and Colorado wish they did. The Rapids got crushed 4-0 at NYCFC. David Villa started off the scoring in the 22nd minute and the goals poured on in the second half.
