FRISCO - We're one week out from the 2019 MLS SuperDraft and that means mock draft season is in full swing.
FC Dallas holds the No. 4 and No. 10 overall picks this year, both by virtue of trades, and for the second year in a row could make two selections in the top half of the draft if they stand pat on draft day.
Who do the experts have Dallas taking with their picks in the pre-combine round of 2019 mock drafts? Let's take a look.
MLSSoccer.com - Matt Doyle
- No. 4: JJ Williams (F - Kentucky) - Dallas don't actually need another center forward – they're already three deep there, but Williams is too good an asset to pass up. I say "asset" because if they pick him here, it's a pick-to-flip proposition. Reports have FCD listening to offers for either of those picks, and happily grabbing a FB with the other.
- No. 10: Logan Gdula (RB - Wake Forest) - Dallas probably want to come out of this draft with one of Nelson, Ward or Gdula. Of the three Gdula arguably has the highest upside, and he should do well as an understudy to Reggie Cannon – or perhaps a replacement should Cannon get sold on to a European team.

- No. 4:Callum Montgomery (CB - Charlotte) - If Chris Richards is transferred to Bayern Munich as expected, adding a center back that can get minutes on the new USL team and make the roster for depth could lead them to Montgomery, one of the top central defenders in the draft pool.
- No. 10: Sergio Rivas (M - Seattle) - It's difficult to imagine either of FCD's Top 10 picks getting minutes this season, so even at No. 10, this pick could either be moved or picked for USL purposes. Rivas is an under-the-radar prospect that could thrive as a focal piece for North Texas SC and play his way into the FCD first team.

- No. 4: Callum Montgomery (CB - Charlotte) - It will be tough to pass on the most pro-ready defender in the draft, someone who could start as a rookie in central defense. Montgomery is a well-rounded defender and should be the first senior off the board.
- No. 10: Santiago Patino (F - FIU) - After grabbing a top defender earlier, Dallas goes for a talented striker in Patino, who has boosted his stock at the MLS Combine.
