FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, June 2) – FC Dallas forward Tesho Akindele was one of 23 players named to the Canadian National Team today for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Dominica.
Canada is scheduled to play a home-and-away series against Dominica in the second CONCACAF Preliminary Round of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. The team will train in Orlando, Fla., from June 7 to June 10, before traveling to Warner Park in Roseau, Dominica, for its match on June 11. The teams meet again five days later, on June 16, at BMO Field in Toronto. The second leg of the series is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT (7:30 p.m. ET).
The 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year has appeared in 44 matches in a row (across all competitions) since making his first professional start on May 1, 2014. He has three goals and an assist in eight starts this season.
