FRISCO, Texas - As the 2020 MLS regular season comes to a close, here is a look at 20 impressive stats FC Dallas accomplished over the course of the season.

Among players taken in the MLS draft (whether that draft be Super, Supplemental, College, etc. and NOT including the inaugural player draft in 1996), Kyle Zobeck is the oldest player to make his debut, at age 30 years, 209 days, vs. Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 2. It has been eight seasons since his selection in the 2013 SuperDraft. The previous record was Leo Krupnik, who was 30 years, 10 days old when he made his debut in 2009, also eight seasons following his selection in the 2002 SuperDraft. Zobeck had four appearances in goal for FC Dallas (three starts) and recorded a 2-1-1 record. He made 11 saves in 318 minutes.

FC Dallas had eight players make a debut in 2020. Franco Jara,Phelipe Megiolaro, Andrés Ricaurte, Thiago Santos, Dante Sealy, Tanner Tessmann and Kyle Zobeck all made their MLS debuts, while Fafa Picault made his FCD debut.

FC Dallas Homegrown Dante Sealy made his MLS debut at 17 years and 145 days old on Sept. 9 vs. Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field. He was the youngest to make a debut for FC Dallas in 2020.

Homegrown Ricardo Pepi became the fourth youngest player in franchise history to start in an MLS match at 17 years and 233 days old on Aug. 29 vs. Minnesota at Toyota Stadium. He also recorded his first MLS assist in the 3-1 win making him the youngest in franchise history.

Fafa Picault and Jesús Ferreira scored a minute and 28 seconds apart in the 3-1 win at Toyota Stadium against Minnesota United FC on Aug. 29. It was the first time since Sept. 12, 2009, when Atiba Harris scored in the 82nd minute and David Ferreira scored in the 83rd minute (One minute and 40 seconds apart). FC Dallas defeated LA Galaxy on the road 6-3.

Defender Matt Hedges became FC Dallas’ all-time MLS appearance record-holder with his 248th game on Aug. 21 against Houston Dynamo. He passed Jason Kreis’ previous record of 247 which stood for over a decade-and-a-half.

Ricardo Pepi’s stoppage-time equalizer against Montreal Impact on March 7 made him the second-youngest player to score a goal in FCD club history (at 17 years, 58 days), the 12th-youngest in MLS history.


LEGEND

Matt Hedges is now the franchise leader in appearances (262), starts (254) and minutes (22,386 minutes). Hedges was selected by FC Dallas with its first pick (11th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.

Defender Ryan Hollingshead became the 17th FC Dallas player to hit 10,000 regular season minutes in franchise history and currently ranks 12th with 10,762 minutes.

FC Dallas announced its 30th Homegrown signing defender Justin Che on Oct. 2, 2020. Che joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2009. At 16 years and 319 days old, Che is the seventh youngest player to sign with FC Dallas, behind Bryan Reynolds, Dante Sealy, Jesús Ferreira, Ricardo Pepi, Alejandro Zendejas and Paxton Pomykal.

Midfielder Thiago Santos finished first in the league during the 2020 regular season with 190 duels won. Santos appeared in 20 matches for FC Dallas.

Defender Bressan had the highest overall passing accuracy for FC Dallas during the 2020 season. Completing 679 out of 789 passes.

Ryan Hollingshead netted four game-winning goals, a career-high. He was second in the league along with Seattle’s Raul Ruidíaz, Vancouver’s Lucas Cavallani, Columbus’ Pedro Santos and Philadelphia’s Kacper Przybylko. Only Toronto’s Alejandro Pozuelo had more game-winning goals with five.

Top 20 Stats From the 2020 Season  -

Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer led the league with a 0.84 goals against average during the 2020 season. He also recorded 7 shutouts and led the league among starting goalkeepers with a 79.4 saves percentage, saving 54 out of 68 shots faced.

Homegrown Tanner Tessmann recorded a career-high seven tackles in the season opener against the Philadelphia Union. No other player had more than seven tackles in a match for FC Dallas in 2020.

Fafa Picault appeared in his 100th MLS match on Oct. 3, 2020 against Columbus Crew SC. He spent three seasons with the Philadelphia Union before being acquired by Dallas. He appeared in 18 matches (started in 11) and scored three goals for FC Dallas this season.

Jesús Ferreira appeared in his 50th match for FC Dallas on Oct. 24, 2020 against Real Salt Lake, the same club he made his FC Dallas debut back in 2017.

Michael Barrios recorded five assists for FC Dallas this season to bring his total count to 44 assists in six seasons with the club. He is now tied for third in franchise history along with former FC Dallas player Mauro Díaz. Former Dallas Burn player Jason Kreis holds the record with 65 assists while former player and head coach Oscar Pareja is second with 47 assists.

Santiago Mosquera scored his first career hat trick on Sept. 16 vs. the Colorado Rapids and was one of only five MLS players to score one this season. He is the eighth player in FC Dallas history to score a hat trick joining Tesho Akindele, Jeff Cunningham, Jason Kreis, Roland Lamah, Bobby Rhine and Dante Washington.

Homegrown Bryan Reynolds led the 2020 FC Dallas Homegrowns in minutes played this season with 1,267 minutes in 17 appearances. He played 25.6% of the 4,949 Homegrown minutes for FC Dallas.
