U-14 Team To Take Part In U.S. Soccer Development Academy Summer Showcase

FRISCO - The FC Dallas Academy U-14 team will have an opportunity to test itself against the country's best teams this week.


Tuesday afternoon marked the start of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Summer Showcasein Westfield, Indiana, for the U-14 age group. While not a traditional tournament structure, the Showcase is an opportunity for the best U-14 teams in the country to test themselves against one another. 

U-14 Team To Take Part In U.S. Soccer Development Academy Summer Showcase  -

FC Dallas played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday as part of the Showcase against three different opponents.


Tuesday's opening match ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat to the New York Red Bulls, although Dallas quickly redeemed itself with an 8-3 victory against Sacramento Republic on Wednesday. The Showcase ended with Dallas defeating the Galaxy 2-1 to finish the tournament with a 2-1 record.


During regular season play, the U-14s suffered only two defeats in 27 matches, while scoring over 100 goals.


This prolific offensive showing by the U-14s included two 20-goal scorers during the regular season in midfielder Beni Redzic and forward Dante Sealy. Sealy continued this form into the Showcase, scoring four times in the win versus Sacramento. 


The Showcase takes place at the same venue as the USSDA Playoffs, which features both the FC Dallas U-16 and U-18 teams and began on Thursday.
