FC Dallas defender Walker Zimmerman has been named to MLS’ Team of the Week following two strong performances against Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders.
Zimmerman scored the game-winning goal Wednesday against the Timbers off a Mauro Diaz corner and also drew a penalty kick against Seattle that resulted in Diaz’s goal in that game.
The 22-year-old homegrown product was apart of a defensive effort that shutout the Seattle Sounders, something that had not been accomplished since Sporting Kansas City did so to open the Sounders’ season.
It’s Zimmerman’s second Team of the Week selection of the season after being named to the first list of the season.
