The FC Dallas women's team has yet to lose or even draw in their inaugural season in the WPSL, as they've extended their undefeated record to an incredible 10-0-0 in the Southwest Conference.
Even with such a tightly packed schedule, the team is currently sitting high at the top of their conference with 30 points, seven points higher than the second place Texas Spurs FC, with just four games left to go in the season. Six of their ten wins have been shutouts and they collectively outscore their opponents 32-14. They need just one more win to secure their division championship.
They scored a quick 3-0 win over FC Tulsa Spirit on June 12, including two goals by Chestly Strother and one by Bianca Brinson, but the game went into an hour long rain delay after the 22nd minute and was eventually abandoned due to heavy rain and lightning. Both Monica Alvarado and Taylor Torres recorded goals in their 2-0 win over the Texas Spurs FC on June 15. Caroline Van Slambrouck scored a goal in the second minute of the game against FC Austin Elite on June 18, and Dallas managed to hold onto their slim 1-0 lead to record another win.
One day later on June 19, the women recorded a 2-1 victory over Pines 1779 with goals by Chestly Strother and Kenne Kessler, and they won 4-0 in their last home game against the Houston South Select on Sunday, June 26, with goals by Mimi Asom, Casie Ramsier and two by Megan Crosson to keep their record perfect.
Next on their schedule is an away game against Oklahoma City FC on July 1 at 7:30 p.m and they can clinch their division with a win. Follow them on twitter, @FCDWomen, to keep up with the team!
