FRISCO, Texas - North Texas SC players Kalil ElMedkhar and Derek Waldeck were named to the USL League One Team of the Week after their standout performances in the club's 4-0 win over North Carolina FC Saturday night at Globe Life Park.
ElMedkhar scored the opening goal just 10 minutes into the game after collecting Hope Avayevu's pass before cutting back onto his left foot and finishing at the near post. The 21-year-old also led the team in crosses (5), touches (55), duels (12), tackles (6), key passes (3) and passing accuracy (96.4%). It's ElMedkhar's second Team of the Week appearance of the season.
Waldeck joins ElMedkhar with his second TOTW nod after registering his team-leading fourth assist of the season for Gabriel de Morais' debut goal. The defender also had a game-high 10 possessions gained and third most passes on the night for North Texas (31).
