North Texas SC Rallies to Defeat Tormenta FC 2-1 at Globe Life Park

Arlington, TX (May 16, 2021) - North Texas SC earned its second win of the season with a 2-1 comeback victory over Tormenta FC at Globe Life Park Sunday night.


Game Summary
First Half:

  • 13’ – Bernard Kamungo’s cross from the right side was met by Kalil ElMedkhar, and his header attempt went wide right of Tormenta’s goal. 
  • 43’ – Alejandro Viniegra’s left-footed shot from outside of the box went high and over the Tormenta goal. 
  • 45’ + 1’ – Nicky Hernandez’s cross was met inside the box by Viniegra but his headed attempt went wide to the right. 


Second Half:

  • 57’ – Marco Micaletto’s right-footed shot from far out had enough power to beat goalkeeper Richard Sanchez and give Tormenta the 1-0 lead. 
  • 59’ – Derek Waldeck’s back pass in the box fell to Viniegra and he buried it into the bottom corner to tie the match up at 1-1.
  • 70’ – Imanol Almaguer’s right-footed shot in the box took a slight deflection but ended in the back of the net to give North Texas SC a 2-1 lead.
