FRISCO, Texas - North Texas SC defender Kazu has been named USL League One Player of the Week after his two-goal outing in North Texas' 4-1 victory over Forward Madison FC Saturday night at Globe Life Park.
Kazu replaced Bernard Kamungo at halftime and quickly made his presence known, scoring the club's third goal of game in 64th minute from close range. Ten minutes later, the 21-year-old added his second and North Texas' fourth goal of the night after running the length of the field to latch onto Kalil ElMedkhar's through ball which he lashed home. It's Kazu's first Player and Team of the Week award.
Kazu is joined in the Team of the Week by North Texas teammates Kalil ElMedkhar, Eddie Munjoma and Gibran Rayo. In his fourth North Texas game, ElMedkhar registered two assists as well as two shots on target, three chances created and an 83% passing accuracy. Munjoma lined up at left back and scored the second goal of the game after linking up with ElMedkhar at the top of the box and finishing confidently into the bottom corner. The defender also won three tackles and registered an 86% passing accuracy. Rayo earned his Team of the Week spot after scoring the opening goal, creating three chances, winning one foul as well as recording a 77% passing accuracy.
