FRISCO, Texas (March 4, 2022) - North Texas SC has signed midfielder Blake Pope to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Pope, 18, joins North Texas SC on a one-year contract with an option for the 2023 season.
A Prosper, Texas native, Pope played four seasons with the FC Dallas Academy before joining the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club in 2020. Pope signed an amateur academy contract with USL Championship side Charlotte Independence and made his professional debut on May 1, 2021 against Tampa Bay Rowdies. In all, Pope made 10 appearances in the USL Championship and recorded three assists.
