2021: Maurer started in 24 MLS regular season matches for FC Dallas. In the 2,131 minutes played, he registered a total of 76 saves, 1.56 GAA, and ended the year with a 67.3% save percentage. Also recorded three clean sheets throughout the year. His first clean sheet of the year came in a 0-0 draw at Toyota Stadium vs. Colorado Rapids on April 17. Maurer made the bench for the MLS Team of the Week on two occasions, during week 1 and 17.

On August 16 vs. Nashville SC, Maurer recorded seven saves to earn his fifth shutout of the year. Recorded five saves in the 2-1 win vs. Inter Miami CF on October 28. Made his MLS Cup Playoffs debut on November 22 vs. Portland Timbers. 2019: Started in two MLS matches for FC Dallas, conceding four goals and making one penalty kick save. Ended the season with a 2.00 GAA. Made six saves on April 6 vs. Philadelphia, including a penalty kick save against Marco Fabián in the 85th minute. Started in both matches for FC Dallas in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Started in five matches for North Texas Soccer Club, conceding only three goals in 450 minutes. Ended the season with three clean sheets and 19 saves.
2018: Maurer started 13 MLS games and one U.S. Open Cup game. He made 31 saves and conceded 16 goals in MLS play, for a GAA of 1.23. Made his MLS and FC Dallas debut at the home opener on March 3. Earned his first MLS shutout on March 18 vs. Seattle Sounder. Earned his third shutout on April 21 vs. Philadelphia and fourth shutout on Aug. 18 vs. Minnesota United.
Professional
2013-2017: Spent last five seasons with the NASL’s New York Cosmos. He became the club’s full-time starter in 2014, earning NASL Best XI honors that season before helping New York to the NASL title in 2015 and 2016. He started 25 games for the Cosmos in 2017, finishing the season with a 9-5-11 record and a 1.48 goals-against average.
2012: Spent one season with Chilean first division team Universidad de Concepción.
College
Maurer was a four-year starter for the University of South Carolina, starting all 78 games for the Gamecocks.
