FRISCO – The FC Dallas Academy teams traveled to Colorado for the second time in two weeks to take on the Colorado Rapids for the first time as divisional opponents. FCD returned to Texas with two valuable wins to remain perfect against MLS opponents.
FC Dallas U-18s: 2
Colorado Rapids: 0
The U-18s posted their third shutout of the season on Saturday, blanking the Rapids 2-0. The sides played to a scoreless first half before striker Bobby Edet scored the eventual game-winner in the 65th minute. Forward Victor Portillo added and insurance goal in the 85th minute, and goalkeepers Caleb Underwood and Jesse Gonzalez played 45 minutes each to combine for the clean sheet.
The win boosted the U-18s up another spot in the Frontier Division standings to second place with a record of 5-2-0. FC Dallas is just three points behind Sporting Kansas City in the standings, with a game in-hand on the first-place club.

The U-16s jumped out to an early lead in their match against Colorado after Aaron Meyer scored his fifth goal of the year in just the seventh minute. The home team would battle back to tie the match however, when Colorado's Edward Venta-Yepes scored the equalizer in the 40th minute. It didn't take FC Dallas long to restore the one-goal lead though, as forward Santiago Agudelo scored the game-winning goal just two minutes later.
The win stretched the U-16s immaculate record to 7-0-0 as the side remains atop the Frontier Division with three points and a game in-hand over second place Solar Chelsea SC.

With three week's time separating the wins over the Colorado Rapids from the Academy teams' next games, FC Dallas is in the middle of preparations for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase. The annual Showcase runs from November 30 through December 4 in Sarasota, Florida. FC Dallas will face fellow MLS clubs New York Red Bulls, D.C. United and Crew Soccer Academy Wolves at the Winter Showcase.
