Academy Update: Wins across the board keep teams undefeated

FRISCO – The FC Dallas Academy and Pre Academy teams all picked up wins last weekend to remain collectively undefeated through the first three weeks of the season. Four of the teams picked up shutouts and in totall the teams outscored their opponents 10-2 over the weekend.


FC Dallas U-18s: 2
Solar Chelsea SC: 0


For the third straight week, forward Bobby Edet and Homegrown midfielder Kellyn Acosta scored for the FC Dallas U-18s to give the side its third consecutive win. Acosta struck in the 31st, Edet tallied in the 45th and goalkeeper Caleb Underwood picked up the shutout as FCD topped Solar in the first meeting of the season.


After a third straight win, the FC Dallas U-18s are second in the Frontier Division behind the also-perfect Sporting Kansas City U-18s. Dallas has two games in-hand on SKC in the early season.


FC Dallas U-16s: 3
Solar Chelsea SC: 2


The U-16s picked up a last-minute 3-2 win over Solar on Saturday. FCD jumped out to an early lead in the match when Wilfred Williams scored in the third minute. Santiago doubled the lead in the 42nd minute to give Dallas the 2-0 lead, but Solar battled back to tie the game in rapid succession with a goal by Bryson Asher in the 64th and another by Toryima Asom in the 65th. The match looked to be destined for a draw until the 80th minute, when Cesar Murillo scored the game-winner for FC Dallas. 


The U-16s have overtaken first place with the only perfect record in the Frontier Division.


FC Dallas U-15s: 3
Dallas Texans: 0


The U-15s picked up a 3-0 win over the Dallas Texans on Sunday. Christian Ramirez scored a brace in the match and Weston McKennie tacked on a third in the win. The U-15s are now in first place in the Texas Pre Academy with a record of 3-0-1.


FC Dallas U-14s: 1
Dallas Texans: 0


The U-14s picked up a 1-0 with over the Texans, with Jordan Ybarra scoring the lone goal in the shutout. With a record of 3-0-1, the U-14s are in third place in the Texas Pre Academy behind Texas Rush and Solar Chelsea SC.


FC Dallas U-13s: 1
Dallas Texans: 0


The U-13s also posted a 1-0 shutout on the weekend, with Bryan Ordonez tallying the winning goal. The U-13s remain number one in the Texas Pre Academy with a perfect record of 4-0-0.

The U-18 and U-16 Academy teams will face their first new opponents since joining the Frontier Divison this weekend when they travel to take on the Colorado Rush and Real Colorado on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The three Pre Academy teams, meanwhile, will travel to take on Andromeda this Sunday.
