FRISCO, Texas (June 7, 2023) – FC Dallas (7-5-5) earned a 2-0 win over St. Louis CITY SC (9-5-1) after goals from Jesús Ferreira and Marco Farfan.

FERREIRA HISTORY
Jesús Ferreira scored his 46th-career MLS goal for FC Dallas. It ties him for the second-most goals in club history along with Kenny Cooper. They trail only Jason Kreis with 91 league goals for Dallas.

GOLDEN BOOT LEADER
Ferreira’s goal was his 10th of the season, making him a co-leader in the MLS Golden Boot race along with Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar and LAFC’s Denis Bouanga. Ferreira leads MLS in non-penalty goals with 10, as well as game-winning goals with six.

DEFENDERS WHO SCORE
Defender Marco Farfan scored his first goal of the season and second all-time. He’s the fourth FC Dallas defender to score a league goal this season after Nkosi Tafari (2), Sebastian Ibeagha (1) and José Martínez (1).

HOME SHUTOUT
FC Dallas recorded its first shutout at home this season. It’s the club’s fourth shutout overall this year after recording three on the road (at Miami on April 4, at Minnesota on May 1 and at Austin on May 14).

MATCH RESUMPTION
The game, which originally started on May 6, was postponed due to inclement weather after 50 minutes of play with the score 0-0. It was resumed today, Wednesday, June 7 at 7:35PM CT with an FC Dallas goal kick. Per MLS rules, both teams were required to use the same players that were on the field when the May 6 match was called off. FC Dallas had two players, Paxton Pomykal and Sebastian Lletget, who sustained injuries during the intervening matches. They were replaced in tonight’s lineup by Edwin Cerrillo and Alan Velasco.

EXPANSION TEAMS RECORD
FC Dallas is 17-2-3 all-time in the first home meeting against expansion teams. FC Dallas had a 17-game unbeaten streak broken by Nashville SC on Aug. 12, 2020 with its other defeat to the Chicago Fire on July 4, 1998. FC Dallas holds a 12-6-4 record in the first match against expansion teams.
