FRISCO, Texas (November 5, 2021) – FC Dallas Homegrowns Justin Che and Dante Sealy have been called up by U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team for the upcoming Revelations Cup in Celaya Mexico from Nov. 7-17 where they will face Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
Both players will depart following the FC Dallas’ road match against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, Nov. 7.
This will be the first U-20 training camp of the cycle as the team prepares for the 2022 Concacaf Men’s U-20 Championship, which will serve as qualification for both the FIFA Men’s U-20 World Cup in Indonesia and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team won its second straight title after defeating Mexico, 2-0, in the 2018 Concacaf Men’s U-20 Championship Final. The U.S. U-20s defeated Honduras in 2017.
Che, 17, signed as the league-leading 30th Homegrown in FC Dallas history on Oct. 2, 2020. He made his professional debut on July 25, 2020 with North Texas Soccer Club, FC Dallas’ USL League One affiliate, in the 2-1 season-opening win against Forward Madison FC. He made his MLS and FC Dallas debut on June 23, 2021 against LAFC on the road. He’s appeared in 15 matches, including 12 starts, and recorded three assists in 1,017 minutes played this season.
Sealy, 18, signed as the 25th Homegrown player on Feb. 26, 2019 and became the second youngest player to sign with the club behind Bryan Reynolds. Sealy appeared in 11 FC Dallas matches after debuting for the club on Sept. 9, 2020 against Minnesota United FC on the road. He scored his first MLS goal earlier this season in the 4-1 win against the Portland Timbers on May 1 at Toyota Stadium. He is currently on loan with PSV Eindhoven U-21 team, where he’s scored five goals in 10 appearances.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2004 are eligible for this World Cup cycle. The roster features 18 players born in 2003 and five born in 2004.
The training camp will be held in accordance with U.S. Soccer’s comprehensive Return to Play protocols. U.S. Soccer requires all staff and players be fully vaccinated in order to attend USYNT training camps. As a leader in the sport, the health and safety of all participants is the top priority for the Federation.
This event marks the U-20 USMNT’s first international action since the team faced Mexico in two friendlies to open the 2020-21 cycle in January 2020. The 2020 ConcacafU-20 Championship and 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
