FRISCO – As if a decisive 4-0 win and sell-out wasn’t enough, FC Dallas also saw a new home unbeaten streak set after a 15th consecutive game at home without a loss.
Since August 15, 2015, FC Dallas is 12-0-3 at Toyota Stadium, making the venue a true fortress against opposing teams. On an evening where fireworks both existed on the field and following the game, coach Oscar Pareja and his squad were nothing both complimentary of the support their fans provide.
“I will honestly include the fans and the support they give us every time we come to the stadium, to our home,” Pareja said, “they played a terrific part.
“They supported the team, helping us and that's why I keep inviting them to come. This is a record that is not just made by the players, but by the fans. This is their territory and you see this joy every weekend or when we play at home that this is important.”
During the fifteen-game run, FC Dallas has outscored their opposition 36-12, including 20-6 this season.
Monday night, in front of a sell-out crowd, players took note of the difference a full, rowdy stadium makes.
“It's huge,” Chris Seitz said. “You know you look out there and you don't see a seat open and you hear passionate fans and knowledgeable fans.
“They saw what we did tonight and we try to put a performance on the field for them that's worthy of what they do for us.”
Pareja has spent plenty of his time in Frisco and he’s aware of how big of a part Toyota Stadium plays in the city.
“It's fabulous to celebrate such an important date as a tradition here in Frisco and at Toyota Stadium with it full,” he said. “The invitation to everybody here in the city is to keep joining this group of players who are working hard and trying to have this entertainment.
“Today was a proof of the commitment these guys have with this sport here and with this city so, it was important.”
FC Dallas returns home to Toyota Stadium on July 16 to host Chicago Fire at 8:00 p.m.
