FRISCO - FC Dallas' Mauro Diaz and Walker Zimmerman have been named to MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Week for Week 17 after FCD's 4-0 win over Orlando City SC on the 4th of July.
Diaz registered two assists during the win - both off of set pieces to defenders. No. 10 had four shots, two of which were on target, and also led the team with 91 touches and 7 key passes. It is the second-straight week and fourth time he's been named to the week's best this season, making back-to-back appearances in Weeks 3 and 4 as well.
Zimmerman makes his second Team of the Week appearance of the season after his opening goal in the 11th minute on Monday night, tying his career-high for goals in a year (2) set during his 2013 rookie campaign. The defender also made the list after a Week 1 win over Philadelphia.
Kellyn Acosta was named to the bench for the Week 17 Team of the Week after a full 90-minute performance with two tackles in the win.
