FRISCO, Texas (May 11, 2024) – FC Dallas (3-6-2, 11 points) beat Austin FC 2-1 (4-4-4, 16 points) in a Copa Tejas matchup on a drizzly Saturday night in front of another sold-out Toyota Stadium crowd.
MUSA, GIVE AND TAKE
Forward Petar Musa scored his third goal in the past four MLS matches after taking advantage of an Austin mistake during the fourth minute. The goal was the earliest of the season for Dallas and ended Austin FC’s franchise record of 307 straight minutes without allowing a score. Musa leads Dallas with four goals this season and has a goal contribution in every match when facing fellow Texas squads.

Musa scored just 3:19 into the match, marking the fastest goal for Dallas this season. FC Dallas has scored in each of its last four MLS matches.
JESÚS FERREIRA HISTÓRICO
FC Dallas Homegrown Jesús Ferreira became the youngest player in MLS history to score 50 goals in regular season action. Ferreira scored Dallas’ second goal of the night following a Musa pass to space. This is his second goal of the 2024 MLS season.
Ferreira is the third player in MLS history to reach 50 goals before his 24th birthday (23 years, 132 days), edging out New England Revolution’s midfielder Diego Fagúndez (23 years, 256 days old) for the MLS record.

FC Dallas recorded its sixth consecutive sellout of the 2024 season. This marks the first time in club history that FC Dallas has sold out Toyota Stadium its first six home games.
