FRISCO, Texas – A record-breaking season saw the club set a new high with 69 goals scored. It was a difficult choice with many great finishes, but today we will be looking at the top five goals scored during the regular season and the playoffs.
- Herbert Endeley vs. Austin FC II – Aug. 2
A signature rapid counter attacking goal. Tarik Scott’s effort to recover the ball in the defensive half sparked the counter. Herbert Endeley ran from his own half all the way to the edge of Austin’s 18-yard box before cutting onto his left foot and unleashing a curling effort past the keeper to level the match on the road.
- Nolan Norris vs. Ventura County FC – Sept. 11
A perfectly executed set piece to start a comeback on the road. Pedrinho’s corner to the near post was headed towards the back post and left the keeper with no choice but to watch the ball go in. A fantastic finish from the ‘Prosper Pirlo’ for his first professional goal.
- Enes Sali vs. Austin FC II – June 22
The Romanian Wunderkind struck from distance. A cleared corner kick fell into the path of Enes Sali who didn’t think twice when striking the ball precisely through the sea of defenders to open the scoreline in the Texas showdown versus Austin FC II.
- Pedrinho vs. MNUFC2 – Oct. 6
For Pedrinho, scoring simple goals is impossible. A rebound collected by Pedrinho in the box saw him tip toe with fancy footwork past four defenders and the goalkeeper to back heel the ball into an empty net. This goal is proof of the flair and art he brings whenever he steps on the pitch.
- Pedrinho vs. Union II – Nov. 11
Game set and match from the Brazilian maestro. Pedrinho once again stepped up when it mattered most. Herbert Endeley ignited the counterattack down the wing and played Tomas Pondeca into space to send a squared cross back into the path of Pedrinho. A sweet back heel to send the Toyota Stadium crowd into frenzy and secure the comeback and the MLS NEXT Pro Cup.
