FRISCO, Texas – Carlos Gruezo recorded his 20th cap for the Ecuador national team, starting at defensive midfield, in a 2-0 win over Peru in a friendly.
After not getting any action for the national team in over two years, the 23-year-old has now played in the team's last three matches and has played the full match in the last two.
Gruezo was given a yellow card in the 41st minute after a foul near midfield.
Gruezo will have another chance to suit up for his national team next week. Ecuador heads to Panama City to play Panama on Tuesday.
