FRISCO - FC Dallas returns home for the first time in nearly a month as they host Atlanta United FC for the first time since the expansion side joined the league last year. Let’s dive into Oscar Pareja’s Starting XI
The 4-4-2
Dallas will shift back to a 4-4-2 look tonight for the first time in league play since May 5 against LAFC. FCD did come out in a 4-4-2 against SKC in their U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 exit three weeks ago. Dallas is 2-1-1 in MLS matches this season starting a 4-4-2 look, with three of the four matches in the formation coming on the road. Their lone deployment of the formation at home resulted in a 2-0 win over Philadelphia on April 21.
Two Changes
Suspended last week, Reto Ziegler steps back into his center back role alongside Matt Hedges, while Santiago Mosquera, who subbed on in the second half in place of Paxton Pomykal, makes the same replacement in the Starting XI tonight. Pomykal has fallen out of the 18 in favor of another young Homegrown.
Ferreira’s First 2018 Roster
With one MLS game and one MLS goal to his name in 2017, Jesus Ferreira makes his first appearance on an 18-man roster for FCD this season. The 17-year-old has played in four matches with two starts and three shots on target for USL-side Tulsa Roughnecks FC while on loan over the first half of the year.
