FRISCO – Tesho Akindele was named a reserve on the MLS Team of the Week after his two-goal performance in a come-from-behind win against Atlanta United FC.
Akindele came into the game in the 75th minute, when FCD was down 2-1, for only his third MLS performance since the end of April.
He scored the tying goal in the 86th minute after a Maxi Urruti assist. Less than two and a half minutes later, Akindele found the back of the net on a corner kick to give FCD a 3-2 lead.
After his performance on Wednesday, Akindele earned his first MLS-start of 2018 and played 90 minutes in the loss to Real Salt Lake.
