FRISCO - It’s as close to a must-win as you can get in September for FC Dallas as they host Seattle Sounders FC at Toyota Stadium. Let’s take a look at the lineup Oscar Pareja has submitted as the club looks to break its eight-game winless run.
Back-Line Consistency
For the first time since June 17-23, Dallas will use the same back four in back-to-back games. Whether it’s by international call-ups, injuries or coaching decisions, the club has seen 22 lineup changes amongst the back four in the last eight games. FCD has uncharacteristically given up 19 goals in those eight contests. Pareja hopes consistency can start to turn around the defensive face over the last seven games.
Lamah on the Left
After opting for Ryan Hollingshead over Roland Lamah last week in Atlanta, Pareja turns back to his usual left winger at home against Seattle. The Ivory Coast-native is second in Dallas scoring with eight goals and three assists this season.
Diaz vs. Sounders
Eleven months to the day since tearing his Achilles’ tendon against these very Sounders, Mauro Diaz will face Seattle for the first time. In his last two matches against the Sounders, Diaz has a goal and an assist, the latter of which coming on his last touch before his injury and effectively clinching the Supporters’ Shield for FCD last season.
