FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas fell to Sporting Kansas City 3-0 early Sunday evening at Toyota Stadium.


First Half:


  • 9’ Michael Barrios forces the first save of the day from Tim Melia after picking up the ball in his own and half and beating two defenders to go through on goal.
  • 16’ Jesse Gonzalez saves a penalty heading into the bottom right corner from Ilie Sánchez after Matt Hedges fouled Felipe Gutiérrez in the box.
  • 25’ Maxi Urruti attempts a curling shot from outside the box after Dallas’ high pressure won possession but Tim Melia saves easily.
  • 26’ – Roger Espinoza nearly breaks the deadlock with a downward header but it rebounds off the post and Dallas is able to clear.
  • 35’ – Dallas’ best chance of the half is missed when Dominique Badji shoots wide of the goal after Michael Barrios’ square pass put him 1v1 with the goalie.
  • 45’ – Kansas City strikes first when Jesse Gonzalez’s initial save rebounds back to Daniel Sallói in the box who calmly slots the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.
