San Jose, CA (April 24, 2021) – FC Dallas (0-1-1, 1 point) fell, 3-1, to the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday afternoon at PayPal Park.


Game Summary
First Half:

  • 2’ – Bressan connected with a corner from Freddy Vargas, but his header bounced off the crossbar.
  • 19’ – Jimmy Maurer denied Cristian Espinoza’s penalty kick to keep the game scoreless. 
  • 34’ – Oswaldo Alanis slotted his penalty kick into the bottom left corner to give the Earthquakes a 1-0 lead.
  • 37’ –  Ryan Hollingshead managed to get his shot past the keeper but Carlos Fierro cleared it off the line. 


Second Half

  • 49’ –  Cristian Espinoza went one-on-one with Maurer and chipped the ball past him to give the Earthquakes a 2-0 lead.
  • 59’ – Cade Cowell managed to slide his shot past Maurer to extend the Earthquakes lead to 3-0. 
  • 79’ – Ricardo Pepi found the back of the net after Andrés Ricaurte’s shot is blocked by Marcinkowski to make it 3-1.
  • 90’+6’ – Phelipe Megiolaro saved Espinoza’s right-footed shot inside the six yard box.
