FRISCO, Texas - With the tournament season already upon us, FC Dallas will be sending the U15 and U17 Academy teams to IMG Academy in Florida to compete in Generation Adidas Cup 2023.
The tournament will boast a record 49 clubs from 12 different countries and four continents, as well as the Academy teams of all 29 MLS clubs.
The U17 squad will feature some of FC Dallas' most promising youth prospects. The team will include U17 youth internationals Nayrobi Vargas (Honduras), Ian Charles (Puerto Rico), and Malachi Molina (Jamaica). It will also include North Texas SC regulars Julian Eyestone and Diego García.
The U15s were placed into Group 2 and will face Chelsea FC on April 1 at 9 AM CDT, New York Red Bulls on April 2 at 9 AM CDT and CF Montréal on April 3 at 10 AM CDT. The U17s were placed into Group 1 and will face Club Atlético River Plate on April 1 at 4:30 PM CDT, Chicago Fire FC on April 2 at 4:30 PM CDT and Seattle Sounders FC on Apr. 3 at 2 PM CDT.
Both age groups will play three group stage games in three days through Monday, prior to the Round of 16 starting on Wednesday, April 5. Those games will be followed by the Quarterfinals on Thursday, April 6, and Semifinals two days later on Saturday, April 8. The Finals for both age groups will be played on Sunday, April 9, with the U15s kicking off at 12 PM and the U17s ending the day at 5 PM.
The tournament will be streamed on MLS Season Pass, with 28 games being shown, including the championship match in each division.
