FRISCO - FC Dallas heads on the road for the first time in 2019 as the team travels to Ohio and the annual meeting against Columbus Crew SC.

CURRENT FORM
- FC Dallas earned its first win of the season at home over the LA Galaxy last week on the back of goals from Reto Ziegler (PK) and Bryan Acosta. Paxton Pomykal made his first start of the year and earned Man of the Match honors as the midfield shined in its best performance to date. Columbus is also riding high off a 2-0 win of its own over New England last week with a brace from Gyasi Zardes and a PK stop from Zack Steffen. Both teams sit at 1-0-1 records and look to remain unbeaten under their new head coaches.
STALEMATE
- Over the last six meetings, Dallas and Columbus have split the points four times with each team taking a win in the other two. Dallas took a 3-0 win in Columbus on Sept. 6, 2015 while becoming the first team in MLS history to start five Homegrowns in a match (Kellyn Acosta, Coy Craft, Jesse Gonzalez, Victor Ulloa and Alejandro Zendejas). Columbus earned their only win during the stretch, 2-1, the last time FCD visited MAPFRE Stadium on Aug. 26, 2017. Although only 18 months ago, just four current members of Dallas' squad started that match (Gonzalez, Matt Hedges, Carlos Gruezo and Michael Barrios).
FINISHING STRONG
- With 63 all-time goals against Crew SC, Dallas has found 25 of their tallies (40 percent) coming over the final 15 minutes of matches. Even more lopsided, 45 of the 63 (71 percent) have come in the second half. On the flip side, FCD has allowed a relatively even spread of 29 first-half goals and 34 second-half goals against Columbus.
NEW, FAMILIAR FACE
- Caleb Porter is back in MLS and hitting the ground running in Columbus. After five seasons at the helm of the Portland Timbers, FC Dallas knows the new head man in Ohio all too well. In 18 regular season matches against the Porter-led Timbers, Dallas posted a record of 7-6-5 with a plus-nine goal differential. Of course there was also the Western Conference Semifinal heartbreak in Frisco in 2015 as the Timbers eliminated FCD en route to their first MLS Cup. Now in Columbus, Porter has Crew SC off to an unbeaten start with Gyasi Zardes leading the attack and Zac Steffan standing tall in goal.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
- FC Dallas and Columbus Crew SC are forever linked by their collective patriarch Lamar Hunt. Hunt was the original owner of the Columbus franchise when the league began in 1996 and in 2003 took over the operations for the then-Dallas Burn. Both clubs represent Hunt’s vision for soccer in America – Crew SC with his initial investment and belief in the potential of Major League Soccer, and FC Dallas his vision for the growth of soccer in his hometown. The Hunt family sold its stake in now-Crew SC in 2013 and is now solely invested in soccer in Dallas. Both MAPFRE Stadium and Toyota Stadium have 10-foot tall statues honoring their late patriarch.
