FC Dallas heads to the Pacific Northwest for the final road match of the season to take on the Portland Timbers this Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6PM CT.

Story Lines
End of the Road: FC Dallas' final road match of 2024 comes with very little on the line for the away team. Dallas' playoff dreams were ended midweek as the club was defeated 3-1 by the San Jose Earthquakes, mathematically eliminating FCD from postseason contention. Now, Dallas will play for pride and look to earn their second road win of the season before returning home to close out the season on Oct. 19 at Toyota Stadium.
Portland's Outlook: While Sunday's game has little meaning for Dallas, it means everything to Portland. The Timbers will clinch a spot in the postseason with a draw or win, thereby eliminating Austin FC from playoff contention. Even if they lose to Dallas, Portland would have another chance to clinch on Decision Day when they take on Seattle Sounders. But, considering Portland's rivalry with Seattle and the difficulty of winning at Lumen Field, the Timbers would love to take care of business as soon as possible and win/draw on Sunday.
