Story Lines

Unbeaten Streak: FC Dallas enters Saturday's game riding a three-game unbeaten streak. The club earned back-to-back wins over Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City to close out March before coming back from a goal down to tie Atlanta United in Georgia to open April. Now, Dallas has a chance to match their longest unbeaten run of last season with a home stand against the Seattle Sounders, who sit in 12th place in the Western Conference (6 places and 5 points behind FCD). Despite enjoying a stronger start to 2025, Dallas hasn't defeated Seattle home or away in their last five attempts going back to 2022.

M(usa)VP: Through seven games, forward Petar Musa is playing at an MVP level for FC Dallas. The Croatian is third in MLS for both goal contributions (goals + assists) and goal-creating actions with six apiece. And Musa's value to the attack goes further than those numbers. Of Dallas' 10 goals this season, Musa has been heavily involved in nine of them (the only one he didn't play a part in was scored by Léo Chú and assisted by Sebastian Lletget and Osaze Urhoghide against SKC). Musa is coming off a game-tying goal in Atlanta and has troubled the Seattle Sounders in the past having scored a goal in the clubs' previous meeting, a 3-2 Sounders win at Lumen Field in June of 2024. If the 27-year-old can maintain this form longterm, he could test the club's all-time record for goal contributions in a single season (33) set by Jason Kreis in 1999 (18 goals, 15 assists).

Seattle: True to form, the Sounders are experiencing another slow start to the new season with just one win from their opening seven games. Some of that can be chalked down to injuries as three key contributors have missed significant time already: forwards Jordan Morris, Pedro de la Vega and Paul Arriola, FCD's former captain who sadly suffered a torn ACL and was put on the season-ending injury list. There will be another former Dallas star present on Saturday, however, as Jesús Ferreira returns to Toyota Stadium for the first time since joining Seattle via trade this offseason. Ferreira hasn't had the most productive start to life with the Sounders but should be aided by the addition of English winger Ryan Kent, who signed as a free ago two weeks ago and could make his MLS debut on Saturday.
