ST. LOUIS, Missouri (August 30, 2023) – FC Dallas (9-10-6, 33 points) fell 2-1 to St. Louis CITY SC (15-9-2, 47 points) on the club’s first trip to CITYPARK on Wednesday night.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE
Maarten Paes was shown a red card in the 12th minute of the match after committing a ‘Professional Foul Handball’. The last time an FC Dallas goalkeeper was shown a red card prior to today was on April 26, 2009 given to FC Dallas goalkeeper Darío Sala in the 25th minute of the match against Chivas USA. Prior to that, the only other red card shown was to Dallas Burn goalkeeper Matt Jordan on April 30, 1999. To note, in both games FC Dallas (Dallas Burn) lost. 

YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR FIRST START AND FIRST GOALDante Sealy made his first start in MLS for FC Dallas tonight, playing 90 minutes. Sealy became the 25th FC Dallas homegrown player after signing with the Frisco side on February 26, 2019. Forward Eugene Ansah logged his first-career regular season goal for FC Dallas and third overall of the year. The Ghanaian joined Dallas on June 19, he made his debut for the club on July 19 against Seattle Sounders FC on the road. He scored his first goal for the club in Leagues Cup play against Necaxa on June 25 in the 3-0 win.  

WELCOME LIAM
FC Dallas’ newest signing Liam Fraser made his FC Dallas debut by coming on in the 81st minute of the match. The Canadian international signed with Dallas on August 4 from KMSK Deinze of Belgium.

SAVES GALORE
Jimmy Mauer subbed into the match in the 15th minute and contributed four saves to keep the Dallas side in the game.

UP NEXTFC Dallas will play its third game in seven days this Saturday, September 2 at 7:30 PM CT as it takes on Atlanta United FC from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The match kicks off at 7:30PM CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, the FC Dallas app, Talk Radio 1190AM and Zona MX 99.1.
