The FC Dallas Foundation and NUU Announce 2024 Community Action Grantees

FRISCO, Texas (July 8, 2024) - The FC Dallas Foundation and NUU are excited to announce the 2024 Community Action Grant recipients. Each organization empowers youth and communities in North Texas with an emphasis on one of the Foundation’s four pillars: Healthy & Active Lifestyles, Education, Character Building, and Social & Economic Impact.

“The FC Dallas Foundation supports programs that promote education, health, and wellness for youth and communities in North Texas,” said FC Dallas Foundation & Community Relations Director, Brooke Leverette. “Our Community Action Grant Program presented by NUU does just that. We could not be more excited for this class of grantees and the meaningful impact they all have in our community.”

"At NUU, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of North Texas residents and soccer enthusiasts through our Community Action Grant partnership with the FC Dallas Foundation, promoting empowerment through innovation."

Each grant recipient receives a $5,000 donation from the FC Dallas Foundation.

2024 FC Dallas Foundation Grantees

Community Lifeline Center
Community Lifeline Center serves residents of north Collin County by providing basic critical resources including food, financial assistance, and serving as an access point for our unhoused neighbors to gain access to necessary resources. In 2024, Community Lifeline Center has a goal of serving 100,000 individuals over 1 million nutritious meals.

Fortress
Fortress provides hope and resources for children and their families as they work toward long-term stability, health, and happiness. Through programs focused on academic, social-emotional, and spiritual support. Fortress’ intergenerational approach utilizes existing strengths and develops new skills to help families overcome barriers rooted in systemic inequities, generational trauma, and life circumstances.

Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports
Pleasant Grove lacks resources and advocacy in many areas - including youth soccer. Pleasant Grove Soccer & Sports helps nurture happier, healthier soccer players and levels the playing field for low-income families in Pleasant Grove through free or low-cost camps, clinics, mentorships, and more.

Texas Blind Soccer
Texas Blind Soccer is a non-profit organization created to provide an organized recreational soccer league for visually impaired youth and adults. Additionally, Texas Blind Soccer strives to educate, promote, and stimulate interest in amateur sports for visually impaired athletes of all ages.

ABOUT THE FC DALLAS FOUNDATION
The FC Dallas Foundation supports programs that promote education, health, and wellness to empower youth and communities in North Texas. Since 2011, the FC Dallas Foundation and its many partners have built 11 pitches around Dallas, Collin, and Denton counties. The Foundation also operates STEAM FC powered by NEC, a program that focuses on teaching sixth grade students how science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics are used in soccer.
