What to Know for FC Dallas Academy's MLS NEXT Playoffs

FRISCO, Texas - The MLS NEXT Playoffs are back at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco for the second year in a row, beginning this Saturday, June 25. The FC Dallas Academy has six total teams competing, three in the Playoffs themselves and three in the MLS NEXT Showcase, a tournament that gives the younger age groups a chance to play in front of college and professional scouts.

The FC Dallas Academy's U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams will all compete in their playoffs while its U-13 and U-14s will enter the MLS NEXT Showcase, along with another U-15 team from the FC Dallas Youth club.

Select Playoff matches will be streamed on MLS's Twitch channel. The FC Dallas U-19s' opening game against the Barca Residency Academy on Sunday, June 26 at 11AM will be streamed and the full tournament streaming schedule can be found HERE.

MLS NEXT Playoffs

Thirty-two teams from each of the U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19 age brackets will compete for the MLS NEXT Cup from June 25 through July 3 at Toyota Soccer Center. All three of the FCD Academy's MLS NEXT teams qualified for their playoff (FCD doesn't field a U-16 Academy team). The Playoffs are single elimination and teams that are knocked out in the early stages will enter the MLS NEXT Showcase.

U-15s

During the regular season, FCD U-15s finished in third in the Central (South) Division and will open their playoffs against Sockers FC on Saturday, June 25 at 9AM on Field 6. The winner will play either Sporting Kansas City Academy or Total Fútbol Academy in the Round of 16. Full U-15s Bracket

U-17s

The U-17s finished second in the Central (South) Division and will face New York City FC Academy on Sunday, June 26 at 9AM on Field 11. If they win and move on to the Round of 16, they'll face the winners of Portland Timbers Academy vs. Austin FC Academy. Full U-17s Bracket

U-19s

The FCD U-19s begin their playoff against the Barca Residency Academy on Sunday, June 26 at 11AM after finishing fourth in the Frontier Division. That opening match will be streamed on Twitch. The winner will move on to the Round of 16 against either Maryland's Bethesda SC or Empire United from New York. Full U-19s Bracket

MLS NEXT Showcase

FC Dallas has three teams competing in the Showcase, a tournament designed to give players exposure in front of college scouts and professional teams. Most games will be held at Toyota Soccer Center with a handful to be played at Harold Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington.
