FRISCO, Texas (March 19, 2024) – North Texas SC defender Nico Gordon has been called up by Montserrat’s national team head coach Lee Bowyer for a set of friendlies to be played against Antigua ahead of the 2024 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The camp will be held in Blakes, Montserrat from March 17-28.
Gordon, 21, signed with North Texas SC on February 2 from English side Birmingham City F.C. ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. Gordon was named club captain and made his NTSC debut last Saturday in the home opener.
Gordon registered his first cap for Montserrat on September 9, 2023, against Barbados in Concacaf Nations League play. Since then, he has six total caps for the Emerald Boys with 540 minutes played. Gordon is eligible to represent Montserrat via his mother.
Montserrat will start its FIFA World Cup Concacaf Qualifiers in the second round. They have been placed in group D alongside Panama, Nicaragua, Guyana and Belize.
