FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 28, 2025) – North Texas SC has finalized its coaching and technical staff for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. Head coach John Gall’s staff now includes Nicky Law, Hamin Kwon, Phil Gomez has been promoted to a full-time role.
Law joins North Texas SC after spending the last 18 months coaching the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL. Law was named interim head coach of the Rowdies on July 27, 2023, before transitioning to assistant coach for the 2024 season. The Plymouth, England, native began his playing career with Sheffield United in the English Premier League. He spent 15 years playing in England and Scotland’s top divisions before joining Indy Eleven in the USL on Jan. 30, 2021. Law retired from professional soccer in 2023.
Gomez has been promoted to full-time second assistant coach for North Texas SC after helping the club win the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup under former interim head coach Michel Garbini. Gomez joined the FC Dallas organization in 2008 and previously worked alongside Gall, coaching multiple academy teams for over six years. He will also serve as head coach of the FC Dallas Academy U13 boys team.
Kyle Zobeck enters his third year as goalkeeper coach for North Texas SC. He was promoted to director of academy goalkeeping in January 2025.
Hamin Kwon completes the coaching staff after joining North Texas SC ahead of the 2025 season. He holds a degree in kinesiology and exercise science from DePauw University. Kwon spent the 2024 season with Indy Eleven as the club’s performance and sports science coach.
