Arlington, Texas (September 22, 2024) – North Texas SC (15-4-7, 57 points) clinched the number one overall western conference seed tonight and obtained the Frontier Division title for the first time in franchise history after defeating Austin FC II (7-8-10, 33 points) 2-1 tonight from Choctaw Stadium.

Forward Pedrinho scored his ninth goal of the season in the 22nd minute of the match from a direct free kick. This marks the first goal scored directly from a free kick and the fourth set piece goal of the year. Pedrinho, alongside Tarik Scott lead North Texas in goals scored with nine.
DIEGO SAVES THE DAY
Midfielder Diego García scored the game-winning goal for North Texas SC in the sixth minute of added time in the second half. García scored his third game-winning goal, tying Enes Sali for most on the team. García’s goal notches the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference in MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs, first time in franchise history.

North Texas SC tied its franchise record of most wins at home in MLS NEXT Pro with eight. North Texas also extends its record for most wins in MLS NEXT Pro history with 15. With the win, North Texas also clinched the Frontier Division title for the first time in franchise history.
