FRISCO, Texas (August 29, 2024) – North Texas SC defender Nico Gordon has been called up by Montserrat’s national team head coach Lee Bowyer for Concacaf Nations League action during the September window running from Sept. 2-10.
Gordon, 22, signed with North Texas SC on February 2 ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. Since signing, he has registered 18 appearances, logged 1,466 minutes and completed 792 passes with a 91.2% accuracy.
Gordon registered his first cap for Montserrat on September 9, 2023. He made his first World Cup qualification appearance on June 6, 2024 against Nicaragua. Gordon has eight caps with 720 minutes played for Montserrat. He is eligible to represent Montserrat via his mother.
Montserrat is in Group A of the Concacaf Nations League B alongside Bonaire, El Salvador, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Emerald Boys will open play against El Salvador on Thursday, Sept. 5 and play the second group stage match on Sunday, Sept. 8 versus Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Both matches will kick off at 3PM CT from Stadion Trinidad Stadium in Bonaire.
