Houston, Texas (July 21, 2024) – North Texas SC (9-3-5, 36 points) suffered a 4-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo 2 (5-7-5, 21 points) on Sunday night at Shell Energy Stadium.
CREATING HISTORY
FC Dallas Academy midfielder Steel Cook becomes North Texas SC’s youngest player to make their professional debut at 14 years, 9 months and 8 days. Cook entered the match in the 80th minute as a substitute. He becomes the fifth youngest player in MLS NEXT Pro history to debut.
MOVING UP THE RANKS
Goalkeeper Michael Collodi made four saves tonight. Collodi now ranks third in single-season and all-time with 44 saves. Only Carlos Avilez (78) and Antonio Carrera (130). In his first year with North Texas, Collodi has played 15 games and has registered six wins. Midfielder Diego García registered his 39th game played, ranking him tenth all-time in North Texas SC history. García tied Nick Mendonca for most games played in MLS NEXT Pro on the team's current roster. Garcia has a career-high four goals and four assists this season.

FC Dallas’ Academy product Daniel Baran made his first professional career start, logging 90 minutes. Baran has appeared in six matches, registering 272 minutes and two shots on target this season.
