FRISCO, Texas (October 22, 2024) – North Texas SC selected Tacoma Defiance in the Pick-Your-Opponent format on Tuesday afternoon. The semifinal match is set for Saturday, October 26 at 7:30PM CT from Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tickets for the match can now be purchased at NTSCTickets.com. The match will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass and aired on the FC Dallas App.
North Texas advanced to the conference semifinal by defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in the conference quarterfinal 3-2 on Sunday, Oct. 20. In previous meetings, North Texas earned its first win over Tacoma Defiance 2-1 during the regular season on April 14, 2024. Since starting play in MLS NEXT Pro, North Texas holds a 1-1-3 record when facing Tacoma. This will be the first meeting between both clubs in the playoffs. North Texas holds hosting priority in every round of the 2024 MLS Next Pro playoffs by virtue of clinching the No. 1 seed.
This is the second time North Texas SC reached the western conference semifinal in MLS NEXT Pro with the first appearance coming in 2022.
