FRISCO, Texas (March 8, 2024) – U.S. Soccer announced today that North Texas SC midfielder Leonardo Orejarena and FC Dallas Academy goalkeeper Nicolas Montoya have been called up to the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team domestic training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, from March 10 through March 15.
Orejarena signed his first professional contract with North Texas SC through the 2025 season. He has previously earned call-ups to several U.S. U-16 and U-17 training camps. In 2022, he was selected for the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup with former club Chicago Fire FC Academy, and scored the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup Goal of the Tournament.
Montoya joined FC Dallas in January 2022 from Cincinnati United Premier. He was born in Medellin, Colombia. Montoya has been called up to train with the FC Dallas first team throughout the summer of 2023 and FC Dallas’ 2024 preseason.
