Arlington, Texas (October 6, 2024) – North Texas SC (16-4-8, 62 points) defeats MNUFC2 (8-16-4, 32 points) 8-2 on Sunday evening at Choctaw Stadium to close out regular season play.

CULMINATING A HISTORIC REGULAR SEASON

North Texas SC joins Crown Legacy FC and Houston Dynamo 2 as the only three undefeated teams at home in MLS NEXT Pro regular season. North Texas also posts the clubs’ best record at home going 9-0-5, the most wins at home in MLS NEXT Pro play. North Texas also recorded the most points on the standings table with 62.

BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS

Midfielder Herbert Endeley scored his second goal of the season in the third minute via an assist from Diego García. Endeley’s goal marks the fastest goal scored by North Texas this season. North Texas culminates the regular season 14-0-3 when scoring first.

10 FOR SCOTT AND PEDRINHO

Midfielder Pedrinho and forward Tarik Scott scored their 10th goal of the season in the 16th and 39th minute respectively. Pedrinho is the first player in North Texas SC history to have 10 goals and 10 assists in a single season, equalizing Bernard Kamungo for the most goal contributions in a season with 21. Pedrinho also set the record for most assists in a single-season with 11. Scott becomes the sixth player in North Texas history to hit the 10-goal mark in a season.

ENES ADDS THE FOURTH GOAL

Forward Enes Sali scored his eighth goal of the season in the seventh minute of added time of the first half. The goal marked the first time North Texas SC scored four goals in a single half. Sali also registered two assists tonight.

A PAIR OF GOALS FOR PONDECA

Midfielder Tomas Pondeca scored his third and fourth goal of the season in the 67th and 81st minute. Pondeca is the fourth player this season to register a brace. This is Pondeca’s first brace of his professional career.

SHARING THE LOVE

Forward Malik Henry-Scott and midfielder Diego García each scored a goal in the second half. Their goals mark the most goals scored in a single game by North Texas with a total of eight.
