FRISCO, Texas - With the March international window closing, North Texas SC regulars Nolan Norris, Antonio Carrera, and Carl Sainte return to the club from international duty.
Defender Nolan Norris, who signed a Homegrown contract with FC Dallas in 2022, returned to action with the United States U19s, playing all 90 minutes in two friendlies. The first friendly was a 3-1 victory against Argentina. The team followed the performance up with another win, 2-0 against Racing Club. Norris has been mainstay with the national team, as he's been a part of all six U19 MYNT camps so far this cycle.
Goalkeeper Antonio Carrera was on duty with the United States U20s, seeing action in two out of three matches. The team lost their first game 4-0 to France. Carrera started the second match, before getting subbed off in the 46' minute in a 4-2 loss to England. In the final game, Carrera came on in the 62' minute against Serbia and kept a clean sheet, earning a 0-0 draw. This is the group’s final camp before this summer’s FIFA U-20 World Cup, with the host site still to be determined.
Midfielder Carl Sainté made his sixth and seventh appearances for the Haitian national team, playing in their final two matches of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League. Sainté earned minutes in both games, as both a starter and substitute. In the first match, Haiti earned a 4-0 victory against Montserrat, with Sainté coming on in the 78' minute. Sainté followed a strong cameo, with a start in the next match playing 89 minutes in a 3-1 win against Bermuda. These wins see Haiti top Concacaf Nations League Group B, earning automatic qualification for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. The tournament will take place from June 24 to July 16, 2023.
With the three players returning from international duty, they're now available to be selected for the upcoming games.
North Texas SC will travel to California to take on LA Galaxy II, Sunday April 2 at 7PM CDT. The game will be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com.
